CHALLENGE

Research tells us that 80% of people haven’t shared their organ donation choice with their family. We know it can be a tough conversation, one that can be confused by myths and misinformation too. That’s why there’s a real need for clarity and truth, along with personal experiences shared by medics, donor families and patients.

Live Life Give Life is a UK based charity creating campaigns and activities to change the way people think and talk about organ donation.

OUR TAKE

When people think about organ donation, often the focus is on the organ recipient and the fact that they have a second chance at life. But it's not just the organ recipient that benefits. All the people that love the organ recipient get to have more time with them, and there are also those who will possibly fall in love with them in the future. This series of short films reminds us why we should all register as organ donors and #LetLoveLiveOn

THE RESULT

“Rocketship”. This film about falling in love again features a debut collaboration between musicians, Mei Jaye and Lucius Inglewood, the emotive song that plays throughout was inspired by a past relationship of Mei’s — whose own father was a kidney transplant recipient. “Without someone deciding to be an organ donor, I wouldn’t be here. Writing a song for the film was a way for me to give back.”

“Love Stories” features ten beautiful love stories. Becoming an organ donor is the final, selfless, act of love that any human can pledge for people who are not known to them and never will be. Launched on Valentine’s Day, this campaign drew attention to the wider impact of organ donation. It’s not only lives that donations can save, but relationships too.
