CHALLENGE

Research tells us that 80% of people haven’t shared their organ donation choice with their family. We know it can be a tough conversation, one that can be confused by myths and misinformation too. That’s why there’s a real need for clarity and truth, along with personal experiences shared by medics, donor families and patients.

Live Life Give Life is a UK based charity creating campaigns and activities to change the way people think and talk about organ donation.

OUR TAKE

When people think about organ donation, often the focus is on the organ recipient and the fact that they have a second chance at life. But it's not just the organ recipient that benefits. All the people that love the organ recipient get to have more time with them, and there are also those who will possibly fall in love with them in the future. This series of short films reminds us why we should all register as organ donors and #LetLoveLiveOn.

THE RESULT

Let Love Live On: “Jet Pack” was released to coincide with the changing regulations around organ donation in the UK, “Let Love Live On” gave illustrator and animator Daniel Stankler an opportunity to adapt his animation style and visual motifs into a more commercial context for the first time.

“It was important to us to tell the story focusing not on the individual life that is saved, but the love, and the emotional ties, that are saved when you save a person by organ donation,” says Stankler. “I spent a lot of time coming up with a concept for the film that I felt successfully meshed these two needs, and came up with something quite weird. The client was super open-minded and loved it and I’m happy with the result.”
