CAUSE: Environment Awareness
The Repair Club is an organisation dedicated to promoting the value of repairing things rather than replacing them. This approach is a crucial sustainability practice, encouraging responsible consumption and reducing waste.
The club won a grant from Patagonia and tasked us with creating an educational programme to promote a repair culture in schools and other educational institutions. This led to the creation of ‘Minor Leagues,’ a series of light-hearted educational videos that use humour to teach the importance of repairing—and so much more!
A comedy where broken objects, fearing the rubbish dump, become aware of repair culture. In this story (as in real life), repairing is portrayed as a rebellious act against the throwaway culture of unlimited consumption.
Our mission was to capture the attention of young people, and our formula was simple: a comedic script, filmed backgrounds, broken objects with animated faces, stock footage, and a mix of talented actors who improvised and delivered scripted lines.
Our fictional series, featuring a group of personified objects fighting back against waste, was introduced in over 110 schools, accompanied by educational guides developed by the Repair Club. This initiative has helped over 10,000 students (and counting) gain a deeper understanding of repair culture and sustainability.
