CAUSE: STEM Education
The Lab-Box is a hands-on educational tool designed to inspire curiosity and enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education. This series of homemade experiments allows kids to explore the wonders of the universe and learn how it works, all from the comfort of their homes. By focusing on physics, the Lab-Box aims to make abstract scientific principles more tangible and accessible for young learners, fostering a love for STEM subjects.
A dynamic group of scientists, educators, and designers needed our help to showcase how physics can be both beautiful and accessible. Lead scientist, Alberto Rojo, developed a box filled with engaging experiments, and we crafted a visually captivating show for kids and young teens to bring these scientific adventures to life.
The show was produced in both Spanish and English, enabling it to reach organisations and schools around the world. We are currently seeking additional funding to produce more Lab-Boxes and distribute them to hundreds of schools across Argentina. The project is poised to make a significant impact in promoting STEM education by equipping children with the tools and confidence to explore the fascinating world of science.

Director and designer, Diego Berakha, illustrated many of the physical principles revealed through the experiments, and we then built a beautiful lab using these designs as the backdrop. Our aim was to make the space playful while still focusing on reinforcing the key concepts of learning from physics.
By combining live-action experiments with animated inserts to clarify details, we developed a strong visual style for both the graphics and set design. This approach resulted in a conceptual introduction that highlighted the significance of experiments throughout the history of science. Additionally, we filmed three chapters that showcase the Lab-Box’s power as an educational tool, encouraging children to actively engage with STEM learning.
We produced a conceptual INTRO that would show the importance of experiments in the history of science. We also shot 3 chapters that show the power of the LAB-BOX as a tool.

The LAB-BOX team is a mindblowing collective:
Alberto Rojo is Associate Professor at Oakland University, Michigan and a specialist in Physics Education.
Polenta is an amazing industrial design collective that developed the box and it´s content.
Diego Berakha is graphic designer and director we highly admire.
The Instituto Balseiro is a world known physics center, and Fundar is a Buenos Aires based think-tank that also helped develop and produce this amazing project.
