CAUSE: Organ Donation and Health Education for Kids
The Orgamites Mighty Education Programme is the only global organ donation and health education programme that uses educational resources, tools, toys, and tech to inspire kids aged 5-11 to become healthier and kinder too.
Despite the prevailing lack of awareness, there is a dire shortage of life-saving organs, especially for children. In fact, children tend to wait two and a half times longer than adults. At the same time, it has been proven that one of the biggest deciding factors between those who donate and those who do not comes down to whether they’ve simply talked about organ donation with their loved ones (even just once) before they (or their loved ones) pass on. The earlier these conversations happen within families, the better.
With this in mind, supporting educators to empower their students to know and talk about organ donation at home with their families, has the potential to capture a considerably larger and influential audience and make an unprecedented impact on the global organ donation crisis.
In addition to our foundational mission to increase understanding of how their bodies work and organ donation. The Orgamites Mighty Education Programme simultaneously aims to help address some of the most critical health crises facing the next generation (as identified by the World Health Organisation and other leading health bodies).
The Orgamites have helped to create an entirely new (and much-needed) category within the world of organ donation and healthcare! Known as the ‘mighty organs’, they represent the parts most needed for donation and transplantation.
Having launched in the UK, Canada and Greece already—and with new countries joining every year, we’ve created the biggest online resources hub filled with toolkits, videos, activations, campaigns, events and mainstream products.
8 Countries, 1,200 Schools, 1,800 Teachers, 36,000 Students… and counting!
And the best part? We’re just getting started!
The Orgamites Mighty Education Programme is the only global organ donation and health education programme that uses educational resources, tools, toys, and tech to inspire kids aged 5-11 to become healthier and kinder too.
Instead of organ donation being an unspoken, heavy topic to broach amongst families, we wanted to help create a world where organ donation is the everyday norm, thereby increasing the amount of organs donated and the number of subsequent lives saved for this generation and the next. To achieve this, we created a team of animated characters – all life-saving organs found in each of us—the Orgamites, also known as the ‘mighty organs’.
Through an ever-growing range of fun, educational resources (geared toward children aged between 5 and 11), the Orgamites are on a mission to inspire and equip more people everywhere to talk about organ donation, take better care of their health, each other and the world.
The campaign was launched in the U.K. Ireland, Canada and Greece.
We’ve created the biggest armory of resources, videos, activations, campaigns, events and mainstream products in order to create a world where organ donation is the norm.
Instead of organ donation being an unspoken, heavy topic to broach amongst families it becomes a relatable matter, thereby increasing the amount of organs donated and increasing the number of subsequent lives saved for this generation and the next.
The Orgamites are on a mission to inspire and equip more people everywhere to talk more about organ donation, take better care of their health, each other and the world.
